When using SumUp to transact you will receive live confirmation as to whether the payment was successful. Your card reader will show the words “Payment approved” and your SumUp App will notify you with a green check mark on your screen as well as the option to provide your customer with a receipt.
It is worth noting, that you can always check whether a payment was successful or not via your Sales History in your SumUp Account at sumup.me as well as the SumUp App.
To check your Sales History via your SumUp Account just log in here with your login data. Underneath the SumUp logo on the left side of your SumUp Account you will find a menu. Choose “Transactions” and you will get an entire overview of all your sales.
If there is a check mark written behind the transaction’s timestamp you know that your transaction was successful. If you want more in-depth information around the transaction, just click on the transaction itself and a “Details” page will open.
You can also filter for all successful sales by choosing “Successful” underneath “Type” on the right side of your SumUp Account and the “Apply”.
To view your Sales History via the SumUp App, click on the “Account” tab (iOS) or the menu symbol (Android) in the top left corner.
Just choose “Sales history” in your menu and you will get an overview of all your sales. Same as for your SumUp Account at sumup.me goes here as well. A tick behind your timestamp means you’re good. If you want more in-depth information around the transaction, just click on the transaction itself and a “Details” page will open.
If a transaction fails, either through a declined card, through a timeout or because the Bluetooth connection was faulty, your card reader and your SumUp App will notify you in real time.
The transaction will still be listed in your sales history but with a red cross behind the timestamp.
To ensure the highest level of security, SumUp cancels every transaction that is not completed within a specific time frame (timeout).
