SumUp is authorised as a Payment Institution by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), therefore we have to verify yourself as the individual registered and as the main contact for your business.
For security reasons, we are required to verify your account. You will receive an email from our Onboarding Team requesting the following documents:
- A scan or photo of your proof of ID (e.g. your passport’s picture page or both sides of your driver’s license)
- A scan or photo of proof of Home address (e.g. one of your utility bills or a bank statement dated within the last 6 months)
Please upload the documents directly in your SumUp Account at sumup.me. You can find your Account Area in the top right corner of your SumUp Account. Choose “Account” and then click “Documents”.
Here, you can upload your ID document to the section "Legal identification" and the proof of your home address to the section "Proof of address". Once uploaded, our team will verify them and get back to you via email.
Please be aware that the documents must be smaller than 10 MB. In case you can’t upload the documents or the files are too large, please send them via email to email@example.com.
Alternatively to a scan, you can take a photo of the documents with your smartphone.
