I am a UK merchant, what will happen after Brexit?
Business as usual. We currently operate across the EU under a UK license which will continue to cover UK merchants post Brexit, providing our merchants with the necessary tools to succeed while doing what they love. We assure all our UK merchants that they will experience no interruption in services. The UK continues to be one of SumUp’s biggest and most valued markets, and we are planning to expand our UK team in 2019 in order to provide an even greater service to our over 100,000 British merchants.
I am a European merchant based outside of the UK, what should I expect once Brexit happens?
Once again, business as usual. Our teams have made all necessary provisions for an un-interrupted service after Brexit - no matter what form Brexit will take. As a financial technology company present in over 30 countries, we have a strong network around the globe. We secure and update licenses to operate in a number of different territories and regions and had the luxury to choose from multiple options to ensure that you will have unaltered service. We will communicate with all of our customers as things develop in a transparent and timely manner.
