The Virtual Terminal features are available to most businesses, however, there are some restrictions:

  • E-Voucher Merchant Models

  • Unlicensed Ticket Agencies
  • Marijuana/CBD and other related products
  • Adult Entertainment and other related services

What are the business requirements?

In order to protect you and your customers, we have put in place business requirements that you need to fulfil before you can start using Virtual Terminal.

We can verify your business with any of the following documentation:

  • Business registration number
  • EIN number/Copy of EIN letter
  • Registration documentation issued by the Secretary of State
  • Annual business tax returns

If applicable, also provide us with links to online presences such as websites or social media.


These documents need to be issued in the applicant’s name or we will require a Power of Attorney for the person named in the application.

How do I sign up for Virtual Terminal?

Your business is eligible and you have all the documentation ready? Then it’s time to get started.

  3. Reply to the Virtual Terminal application form that we send you.

Already have an account?

  1. Send us your request for Virtual Terminal to from the email registered to your SumUp account.
  2. Reply to the Virtual Terminal application form that we send you.

After the review of your application form is complete, you will receive our decision notice via email.

What do I pay to use Virtual Terminal?

For every transaction with Virtual Terminal, we charge a flat transaction fee of 2.95% plus $0.15. There are no other costs associated with using this service.
