Change my billing descriptor

Your billing descriptor is the business name that will appear on your customers’ bank statements. By default it will appear as:

SumUp *the Merchant Business Name you provided during registration*

However, you can customise this to whatever you'd prefer by simply following these steps:

  1. On your SumUp profile, select the profile symbol in the top right corner.

  2. Choose “Settings”.

  3. You can now amend the descriptor.

  4. Once you click “Save” the changes are applied immediately.

Important

We always send the whole billing descriptor when processing a payment, but your customer’s bank may shorten the descriptor on their own bank statement.
