Open the CSV template

Once you download the CSV import template, open it in a programme capable of editing CSV files, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

How do I use CSV files?

CSV refers to a file type for collecting and formatting data. They can be edited by importing them to Microsoft Excel or on Google Sheets.

Enter your items’ details

Item details can be added under the following columns in the CSV file. Fields in bold are required. The CSV file is in English, but you can complete most fields any language.

  • Item name - your item's name e.g. shirt

  • Variations - name and create simple item variants e.g. small, medium, large

  • Option set 1, 2, 3, 4 - name and create complex variant sets with multidimensional variants e.g. size, colour, material

  • Option 1, 2, 3, 4 - if creating multidimensional variants, enter the specific variant options. These will combine automatically to show the fully array of options e.g. (size) small, medium, large; (colour) red, blue, green; (material) cotton, corduroy, denim

  • Is variation visible (Yes/No) - for multidimensional variants created with option sets, show variants by typing "Yes" or hide them with "No"

  • Price - the current price of your item or variant

  • On sale in Online Store? - set your item as discounted by typing "Yes" or type no to signify this is the item's normal price

  • Regular price (before sale) - for items marked as discounted, enter the original, pre-discount price here so customer know how much they're saving

  • Tax rate (%) - the tax rate applicable to this item or variant

If you're using item variants, only enter the above information in the row corresponding the variants and leave the item row blank.

  • Track inventory? - track item or variant stock levels by typing "Yes" or choose not to with "No"

  • Quantity - the quantity of an item or variant initially in stock. This field is required if inventory tracking is enabled

  • SKU - a unique stock keeping number for tracking individual items or variants

If you're using item variants, only enter the above information in the row corresponding the variants and leave the item row blank.

  • Description - a description of the item for use with Online Store and Invoices

  • Category - the name of the item category your item should be saved in

  • Display colour in POS checkout - colour code how items appear at checkout. Choose from the following options, writing the name in English as follows:

    Light red
Dark red
Pink
Orange
Light green
Dark green
Yellow
Light blue
Dark blue
Purple
Grey
Black
  • Image 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 - add up to 7 images by including a URL for each image

If you're using item variants, only enter the above information in the row corresponding the variants and leave the item row blank

  • Display item in Online Store? (Yes/No) - make the item available on your Online Store by typing "Yes" or enter "No" to make it unavailable for Online Store

  • SEO title (Online Store only) - a item title that will show up in Google searches and enhance the discoverability of your item

  • SEO description (Online Store only) - a item description that will show up in Google searches and enhance the discoverability of your item
