iPad replacement with SumUp Point of Sale

I’ve been instructed to replace the iPad I currently use. Why?

If your iPad runs on an iOS version lower than iOS 13, your device will not support the latest SumUp POS technology. Devices running on older iOS versions are not capable of the software updates necessary to get the most out of your POS system.

We want to make sure SumUp POS users are able to access the latest product features so that they can manage and grow their business efficiently. Older iOS versions are not compatible with our new features and updates related to product performance and security, so you should now upgrade to a new iPad to continue using your POS system to its proper capacity.

When do I need to replace my iPad?

If you’ve been notified that your iPad will no longer support SumUp POS, you should replace your device as soon as possible. Your current device will no longer support your POS system after October 17th, 2022.

After October 17th, 2022, iPads running on software lower than iOS 14 will no longer support SumUp Point of Sale. Our technical teams will perform frequent updates to maintain the quality of our product, so it’s important that users are always using the most recent version of SumUp POS to get the best experience possible.

I’ve been instructed to update the iOS version my iPad currently runs on. Why?

If you’ve been notified about updating your iPad’s current iOS software, your device is eligible to update to iOS 14 and above. Carrying out this update means you’ll be able to access new POS features as they’re released, and you’ll always get the most out of your POS system. This update is essential so that our team can also fix any software issues or bugs in the future. To update your iOS version, simply open your iPad and go to Settings > General > Software Update.
