How does the Tip Management feature work?

Once you’ve switched on the Tip Management feature, your POS system will automatically give you the option to register a tip when payment is more than the bill due. 

For example, if your customer pays €10 for an €8 bill, you’ll be asked if you’d like to issue €2 change to the customer, or use it towards a tip. If your customer chooses to tip, you can simply click the Use for tip button. 

How do I switch on the Tip Management feature?

You can switch on the Tip Management feature directly in the back office of your POS. Just go to Modules > Payment and toggle the feature on and off as you wish. 

I used the wrong payment method when I made my payment with tip, how can I correct it?

As with any transaction, if you selected the wrong payment method, you can go to your transactions list and click on the payment you wish to modify. Tap on "Modify Payment" button and change the payment method (e.g. replace CARD > CASH) 

How do I know which staff members received which tips?

When using multi-user management, tips will automatically be assigned to the staff member processing the respective payments. Your team can find the details of their tips on their X tickets, which can be printed at any time during the business day to give a clear overview of the transactions completed so far. 

Where will tips be registered on my POS system?

Your tips will be shown in the payment info of each of your transactions, as well as on each order receipt. You can also find the details of your tips on your Z tickets, X tickets and in your reports.

Can customers tip by card or phone?

Yes, your customers can leave a tip via their card or mobile phone.  

How are tips shown in my POS reports?

Tips Report

When using the Tips Management feature, you can view a dedicated Tips Report in the back office of your POS. You’ll be able to filter your Tips Report by staff member, payment method and specific periods of time. If you’re operating multiple branches of your business, you’ll be able to filter by location, too. 

Orders Report

As well as on individual order receipts, you’ll find details of your tips in your Orders Report. You’ll see a clear overview of the payment, change and tip given per order. 

Drawer Report

You’ll also be able to access info on your tips in your Drawer Report. Check your Z ticket at the end of each business day for all the details you need on payments, expenses and your tips too. 

Accounting Report

Not to worry, your tips will be registered in your Accounting Report, too, so everything’s in order when sorting your finances.

What if my customer tips after I finish processing the payment on my POS?

Tips left after the payment process can’t be registered on your POS system.
