Change my billing descriptor

  1. Log in to your SumUp profile using a web browser and click the profile symbol in the top right corner.

  2. Select "Settings".

  3. Scroll down to the "Billing descriptor" section. Here you can see your current billing descriptor.

  4. Enter your preferred billing descriptor and click "Save".

Some banks may cut the billing descriptor short, preventing the full version showing in customer’s bank statements.

Why change my billing descriptor?

Recognisable billing descriptors help remind customers of their purchases when looking at their bank statement, reducing the likelihood of mistaken fraud reports.
