How verification works

  1. After signing up, log in to your SumUp profile via a web browser or the app.

  2. Select the verification banner at the top of the screen and follow the instructions to scan your ID, submit a selfie and get verified.

In some cases, we may contact you to request additional documents needed to complete verification.

I'm approaching my verification limit

Verification may take a couple of days. Contact us to speed up the verification process if you expect to hit your limit soon.

Additional verification documents

If necessary, we'll email you to request some of the following information. Either upload your documents or attach them as a reply to the verification request email we sent.

  • ID and a selfie - official government photo ID such as a passport and a passport style photograph clearly showing your face

  • Proof of home address - e.g. utility bills, bank statements or a rental agreement dated within the last 6 months

  • Proof of business activity - e.g. business invoices, scans of business cards, links to an online presence

  • Other company documentation - e.g. company registration number, Constitutional/Formation Document, Annual Return, Bylaws or Minutes of General Meetings, power of attorney letter

Ensure all documents are clear, valid and bear the name of the registered SumUp profile owner. Unclear or invalid documentation could prolong the verification process.

We'll confirm your verification by email.
